The way you wear your hat,
The way you sip your tea,
The memory of all that,
No, they can't take that away from me . . .

Selfish. That's one word that comes to mind when I think of the passage of Prop 8. Who could deny a couple the joy of being married, and want to keep that happiness just for a select few? After the tearful joy of watching a proud moment for our country as we elected our first African-American president, there were tears of sadness when I realized just how far we still have to go, when the right to marry for gays and lesbians, which was affirmed by California's Supreme Court, could be denied with the passage of an amendment to the State's constitution. I hope with all of my heart that it will be overturned as unconstitutional.
